Sketchbooks

I am a working artist, currently attending Art college in Limerick, Ireland were I am studying printmaking. I love keeping a sketchbook. Its a great way for me to get whats in my head out of the way and onto the page. Sometimes the sketchbook I use determines the work or style of work that goes into it. I'm very picky about the sketchbook I use, at the moment Handbooks are my favorite. I have a habit of going through magazines, or conversations, and taking snippets of sentences/conversations or quotes and such and then using them as a basis for an image. Or combining both image and quote, so my work has become very illustrative. I love usiing watercolours and pens. My sketchbooks are very personal to me and are a great escape, I feel, for me anyway, that it is important that I at least write or draw something everyday, even if its just a simple doodle, its improtant to keep the mind and talent working and growing.
